What is the process if I consign my boat with Challenge Marine?
- STEP 1: Tell us about your boat via the above form, or call us on 08 9409 1020 or 0421 540 771.
- STEP 2: Based on this information we will give you a market price estimate for your boat and explain our commission structure.
- STEP 3: We then ask you to put together as much information as you can about your boat. The more info we have about its servicing & maintenance, options, electronics etc, the more attractive it will be to buyers who are in the market for a similar boat.
- STEP 4: Make an appointment with one of the team to drop your boat off to our showroom at 30 Berriman Drive, Wangara or ask about our collection service.
- STEP 5: When we take delivery of your boat, we will spend some time with you, walking through the boat and the relevant documents. This enables us to complete our comprehensive consignment form where everything discussed is put in writing.
- STEP 5: We take it from here – as this is where we start to earn our money (bearing in mind we only get paid when we sell your boat). As part of our service, your boat will appear on multiple national websites at no charge to you, placing it in front of the maximum number of potential buyers. After being cleaned, your boat will be displayed in our secure premises and our highly skilled team will start calling potential clients they may have lined up for a boat just like yours.
- STEP 6: If we manage to sell your boat for its full asking price we will simply confirm which account you would like us to deposit the funds into. If the offer is close, and the buyer gives permission for their details to be shared, we will email you the offer to purchase for your consideration.
How much will it cost to sell my boat through Challenge Marine?
The answer may surprise you, possibly nothing! As a dealer, we are able to accept trade-ins on your boat and can provide buyers with finance. This means we may be able to achieve a better price than you had envisaged, with our commission covered by the difference. When we sell boats on consignment, we make sure that you stay in control of the sale price at all times.
Do you have flexible commission arrangements if I consign my boat with Challenge Marine?
- Option 1 – we will receive a percentage of the listing price. This percentage varies from boat to boat (typically reducing as a boat’s value increases). Ask our friendly team for details.
- Option 2 – we will agree on a net amount that you will be paid once your boat sells. If you have a price in mind that you would like to receive, we will simply place a suitable commission on top of that figure and market the boat with this in mind
If I consign my boat with Challenge Marine, are there any advertising costs?

Will Challenge Marine take care of everything to sell my boat, including sea trials?
The simple answer is yes. We will ensure that your boat is in a good working order before listing it for sale. Your boat will then be cleaned and displayed in our secure premises until sold. Our professional team will take care of all customer inspections, conduct sea trials (if required) through to a full handover to the new owners.
